Sanford Health Plan’s Commercial HMO and Marketplace plans are accredited by the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA). NCQA is an independent, not-for-profit organization dedicated to assessing and reporting on the quality of managed care plans, managed behavioral health care organizations, preferred provider organizations, new health plans, physician organizations, credentials verification organizations, population health programs and other health-related programs. NCQA’s mission is to improve the quality of health care.

Sanford Health Plan has implemented a quality improvement program designed to monitor, evaluate and improve the quality, safety, and appropriateness of the health care services our members receive.

HEDIS®

HEDIS (Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set) is a set of standardized performance measures designed to ensure that purchasers and consumers have the information they need to reliably compare health care quality. Quality improvement activities, population health programs and practitioner profiling efforts have all used HEDIS as a core measurement set.
