Quit tobacco today, with our help

Whatever your reason for quitting, you can get $700 to have your out-of-pocket quitting costs covered.

NDPERS received a grant to help covered employees quit smoking or chewing tobacco. The grant pays for approved tobacco cessation counseling, medications, health care provider visits and co-pays. This program is administered by Sanford Health Plan.

What is paid for?

Every six months, the program pays up to $700 in tobacco cessation expenses, including:

  • Up to $200 for office visits and co-pays
  • Up to $500 for FDA-approved cessation medications

Am I eligible?

The Tobacco Cessation Program is available to current employees with NDPERS health coverage, of:
  • State of North Dakota
  • North Dakota University system
  • District health units
  • Garrison Diversion Conservation District

Covered dependents age 18 and over are also eligible.*

How do I enroll?

Enrollment begins on July 1, 2018 and runs through April 30, 2019. If you are interested in receiving benefits starting July 1, 2018, please fill out the form below. We will contact you when enrollment is open.
